About Kentways: Once a family business, Kentways provided luxury vacations throughout Europe during the 1960's and 1970’s. We revived the name in honor of our family’s dream, to introduce people to new and different parts of the world. Our goal is to create inspired living environments for people who value exploration and growth. In the early 1990’s, Peter Kent settled down in the Islands of Bocas Del Toro. The allure of the history, natural beauty and basic infrastructure inspired the birth of a new vision. Peter’s past international travel and construction experience provided the foundation to build homes unlike anything ever seen in Bocas Del Toro before. In the early days, most construction supplies were limited to local materials while labor was provided by Bocatoranians with skills more appropriate for fishing than construction. However, Peter’s team was able to overcome these limitations. “From live tree to turn-key,” as the saying goes which describes the early days of building in Bocas Del Toro. Trees were cut during certain times of the month, wood was hand planned and what was unskilled labor, learned new techniques and practices.

The new millennium brought unforeseen growth. With this growth, Peter needed to once again, reinvent a new method of delivering his dream to others. Andrea Kent joined the team bringing with her 20 years of interior design experience helping to further refine the Kentways design team. Rounding out the new team was the addition of Greg Harris to focus on sales and operations. The unforeseen growth in the Islands of Bocas Del Toro has forced the team to constantly adapt and refine its approach. This challenge has been embraced resulting in inspired homes which, with proper maintenance, will endure for many lifetimes.

Today, the larger projects in Bocas Del Toro are employing imported skilled labor. However, Kentways proudly continues to partner with the local men and women who together have built what Kentways is today. Through ongoing training, our team utilizes the latest building techniques and standards employed in the United States resulting in the high quality of construction our clients demand. The finishes and furnishings are a combination of local Panamanian materials, as well as, imported resources giving each home a unique personality. Though we design for aesthetics, the practical endurance is always a high priority. However, beyond a great team and the beautiful homes they create, we realize that what makes our mission possible is the unique natural environment of Bocas Del Toro. The lush natural rainforests, revitalizing ocean air and warm Caribbean waters create the backdrop essential for each of our new residents to truly live an inspired life.

We are builders specializing in balancing quality construction with environmentally sustainable building practices.  Kentways started with the construction of Peter’s first house on Isla Carenero in 1994. Kentways has grown with the increasing demand for homes in Bocas Del Toro to a total of 41 team members with 9 homes currently under construction and 58 homes in various stages of planning.
